Ben & Bridie’s Festival-Style Wedding at Three Pools, South Wales

When two of your closest friends ask you to create the perfect festival-style wedding, you know it’s going to be something truly special. Ben and Bridie, very good friends of myself and the whole Mikata team, tied the knot in an unforgettable celebration at Three Pools in South Wales—a magical venue just an hour from Bristol.

This wasn’t just any wedding; it was the perfect mix of beautiful moments and fun-filled silliness, blending heartfelt speeches with festival vibes. And we couldn’t have been more thrilled to help bring their vision to life.

A Festival Love Story

Our relationship with Ben and Bridie runs deep—back to the Come Bye Festival, where they’ve handled the incredible lighting displays for the past four years. We’ve also been proud to host a stage at the festival with our tipis, and their wedding was an extension of that creative partnership. When they asked us to incorporate our decor, sound system, and lighting from Come Bye Festival, it felt like a natural fit.

They wanted a wedding that truly reflected their personalities and the festive spirit they love. And that’s exactly what we aimed to create.

Creating the Festival Atmosphere

We set up two stunning tipis linked together with our Gold package, angled perfectly to face the sunset—a detail that added a magical touch to the evening. The sides of the tipis were raised to create an open, airy feel, seamlessly blending the indoors with the beautiful South Wales countryside.

The day started with an elegant sit-down meal followed by speeches that brought a tear to every eye in the room. Then, as the sun dipped below the horizon, the fun really began.

"From heartfelt speeches to Drag Queen Bingo and the Hun-Olympics, this wedding had everything you’d expect from a festival-style celebration and more!"

Ben and Bridie’s creativity shone through in every detail, from the decor to the activities. Guests laughed their way through drag queen bingo and competed in the Hun-Olympics, creating memories that will be talked about for years to come.

Looking Ahead

While the day itself was incredible, the weekend didn’t end there. Ben and Bridie, along with the crew, capped off the celebrations in true festival style—with a soak in a hot tub boat. But that’s a story for another blog!
